Evaluation System

Site and Design Evaluation System is a system developed by the IMOA (International Molybdenum Association) proposed as a guide to evaluate initially the corrosion susceptibility to which stainless steel can be exposed when used in a particular project so that designers make decisions in the selection stage of the material in order to prevent future corrosion problems. Evaluation factors considered by the system are five: environment, coastal or deicing salt exposure, weather, design and maintenance schedule considered.
